AGENTS.md Support Added in Claude Code v2.1.277
Version 2.1.277 adds AGENTS.md as a fallback instruction file: if no CLAUDE.md exists in a folder, Claude Code will look for and use AGENTS.md instead. The behavior can be toggled in /config.
