Claude Code on desktop now includes an in-app browser. Claude can pull up docs, design files, or any external site and interact with them the same way it interacts with a local dev server. Sessions are sandboxed and persistence is user-configurable.
The new in-app browser lets Claude open production apps, follow links it generates, browse external sites, and stream live web content inside the desktop app. A team member illustrated the range with deliberately absurd examples: checking Twitter, watching the FIFA World Cup.
A daily user of all Claude surfaces explains their mental model: Chat for quick back-and-forth, Cowork for sustained knowledge work with persistent memory, Claude Code for hands-on building where steering matters, and Claude Tag (Slack) for async tasks where the team can co-steer in context. The framework isn't deliberate, just a natural reach for whichever surface has the right access and context.
